Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

Branching Roots provides outdoor educational experiences designed to encourage exploration, creativity, nature-based learning, and community. While participant safety is a top priority, outdoor activities naturally involve certain risks.

By registering a child for Branching Roots programs, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to the following:

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in Branching Roots activities may include, but is not limited to:

• Nature walks and hiking

• Outdoor exploration

• Bushcraft and wilderness skills

• Campfires and fire safety demonstrations

• Gardening and food preparation

• Foraging and tasting edible plants

• Arts, crafts, woodworking, and creative projects

• Science experiments

• Physical play and movement

• Interaction with natural environments, including uneven terrain, insects, wildlife, plants, and changing weather conditions

I voluntarily assume all ordinary risks associated with my child’s participation in these activities.

Medical Information

I agree to provide accurate medical information, allergy information, emergency contacts, and any other information necessary for the safety of my child.

I understand that it is my responsibility to notify Branching Roots of any changes to my child’s medical or emergency contact information.

Emergency Medical Care

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Branching Roots staff or volunteers to obtain emergency medical care for my child if I cannot be reached.

I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

Parent Responsibility

I acknowledge that I have reviewed the program description and understand the nature of the activities offered.

I agree to ensure my child arrives appropriately dressed and prepared for outdoor learning, including weather-appropriate clothing, footwear, food, water, and any required personal items.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Branching Roots, its owners, employees, volunteers, instructors, and program assistants from claims, demands, damages, or liability arising from ordinary risks associated with participation in Branching Roots activities.

This release does not apply to claims resulting from gross negligence, willful misconduct, or actions prohibited by applicable law.

Photography

Unless I notify Branching Roots in writing, I grant permission for photographs taken during programs to be used for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes, including the Branching Roots website and social media channels.

No child will be identified by full name without additional permission.

Agreement

By registering my child through this website, I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understand this Liability Waiver.

• I understand the nature of the activities offered by Branching Roots.

• I voluntarily accept the ordinary risks associated with participation.

• I agree to the terms outlined in this document.

If I am registering more than one child, this agreement applies to each child included in my registration.
